What will we be doing

Day 1 - Wentworth Falls to Leura

This morning we will have an early meet and greet to set off for the first half of the Grand Cliff Top Walk. 


 Wentworth Falls to Leura walk is the first day for those hiking Grand Cliff Top Walk. This 11km journey though World Heritage area on Gundungurra County passes plunging waterfalls and lookouts in Blue Mountains National Park .


Time suggested: 5 - 7hrs 

Grade: Grade 3 

Highlights: Wentworth Falls: We will start our journey with the awe-inspiring sight of Wentworth Falls, cascading 100 meters into the valley below. 

Scenic Views: We will follow the trail along the cliff tops, where you'll be treated to panoramic vistas of sandstone peaks, lush forests, and the expansive valley. 

Leura Cascades: Midway through the hike, we will take a break at the picturesque Leura Cascades, a serene spot perfect for a rest and some photos. Birdwatching: Keep an eye out for native birds such as honeyeaters, cockatoos, and king parrots. This section of the Grand Cliff Top Walk is perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers looking to experience the natural beauty and tranquility of the Blue Mountains. Upon completion we will make our way back to the hotel to relax after our day. A chance to exchange experiences with others.

Day 2- Gordon Falls to Katoomba

Gordon Falls to Katoomba walk is 8km and the second day of Grand Cliff Top Walk, in the Blue Mountains. It offers impressive views of Three Sisters Aboriginal Place and Mount Solitary.


Time suggested: 3 - 4hrs 

Grade: Grade 3 

Highlights: Gordon Falls: We will begin our hike with the stunning sight of Gordon Falls, where water cascades 200 meters into the lush valley below. 

Cliff-Edge Views: Following the trail along the cliff tops, offering panoramic views of the Jamison Valley and the iconic sandstone formations. 

Three Sisters: As we approach Katoomba, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Three Sisters, one of the most famous landmarks in the Blue Mountains. 

Birdwatching: Keep an eye out for native birds such as cockatoos, king parrots, and honeyeaters along the way. This section of the Grand Cliff Top Walk is perfect for hikers seeking a mix of adventure and tranquility, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife of the Blue Mountains. Once we complete this portion of the trial, you will have the afternoon at your leisure to relax at the hotel or explore some of Katoomba.  


Upon completion we will return to our hotel were we can relax and get ready for our Yulefest Dinner and visit from Santa

Metropole Guest House Yulefest Dinner

Join in embracing the spirit of Yulefest this winter alongside your loved ones at the charming 1930s Metropole Guest House. Revel in the nostalgia of yesteryears as you gather around the piano to sing Christmas carols and cozy up by the fireplace. Indulge in a delicious 5-course dinner and anticipate a special visit from Santa himself. 

DAY 3 - Japanese Bath House & departure

Today we will set off to the Japanese Bathhouse. Surrender to the beauty of nature and immerse yourself in the serene culture of our Japanese bathhouse. Here, you can experience the traditional onsen and public bath culture, designed to promote relaxation and well-being. They are dedicated to the philosophy of Ikigai (生き甲斐, pronounced [ikiɡai]), which means finding happiness through the pursuit of your reason for being. Their bathhouse is a sanctuary where you can reconnect with yourself and find tranquility. Their natural mineral spring water, sourced from a depth of about 300 meters, flows from the mineral-rich layers of the land. This water is renowned for its therapeutic properties, offering a rejuvenating experience for both body and mind. Come and enjoy the soothing warmth of our onsen, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Whether you seek relaxation, reflection, or a moment of peace, our Japanese bathhouse provides the perfect setting for your journey to well-being. 


Upon completion of your time at the ONSEN we will bid farewell.

Who would this tour suit best?

This tour is best suited for women aged 18+, with a good level of fitness for the trails we will be walking. We will take a relatively steady pace to allow for all walking levels and to take in scenery. Hike guide times may vary and we do continue hikes in wet weather. You must be able to walk unassisted and can bring your own hiking poles. 

Teenagers are permitted on the hike but must be a min of 15yrs and parents are responsible for them at all times.

By booking your arrangement with Social Travel Connections, or its communities you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this agreement and any additional terms and conditions of any supplier that are applicable to your booking arrangements. These can be reviewed here. 


STC - Reserve the right to make alterations to any part of the itinerary, if weather affects the ability of access. We will endeavor to keep it as close to our itinerary as possible. We do continue to hike in the rain. As much notice will be given as possible. 

Changes and Cancellations

  • Changes to bookings after final payment do incur an administration fee of $55 + any applicable supplier fees already finalized if any. Depending of time of change.
  • Cancellations made 60days or less prior to departure will be charges 100%.

Tips for Hiking

  1. Carry sufficient water, snacks, and a first aid kit. 
  2. Wear sturdy hiking boots and dress in layers to accommodate changing weather conditions. 
  3. Stay on marked trails to protect the environment and avoid getting lost. 
  4. Carry out all rubbish and leave no trace of your visit. 
  5. Be mindful of local wildlife and keep a safe distance. 
  6. Inform someone of your hiking plans and expected return time 
  7. Take your time to enjoy the stunning views, waterfalls, and diverse flora and fauna. 
  8. Bring binoculars for birdwatching and a camera to capture the beautiful scenery. 
  9. By following these tips, you'll have a safe and enjoyable hiking experience in the Blue Mount 
  10. Get moving and prepare in advance, you can join our Women's Hiking community and start getting active locally.

July Weather in the Blue Mountains

July is winter in the Blue Mountains, and you can expect mild daytime temperatures and chilly nights. Here's what you can typically expect: 


Daytime Temperatures: Average maximum temperatures range from 13°C in Mount Victoria to 16°C in Springwood. 

Nighttime Temperatures: Nighttime temperatures generally drop to around 3°C in Mount Victoria and 4°C in Springwood. 

Precipitation: July usually sees moderate precipitation, so it's a good idea to be prepared for some rain. 

Tips for Hiking in July: Dress in Layers: The weather can change quickly, so wearing layers will help you stay comfortable. 

Stay Dry: Bring a waterproof jacket and wear moisture-wicking clothing to stay dry. 

Start Early: Days are shorter in winter, so start your hike early to make the most of the daylight. 

Check Conditions: Always check the weather forecast and trail conditions before heading out.
